Mahanaim means a place of two camp. . This is shown in Genesis 32:1-2 [a]Jacob also went on his way, and the angels of God met him. 2 When Jacob saw them, he said, “This is the camp of God!” So he named that place Mahanaim.[b]
We live in this world but we are not of this world. Hence We are told in Matthew 10:16 16 “I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. This is the meaning of the two camps. To live in Both camps we need to

Ask God ( Petition)
Elisha Asked God to open the eyes of Gehazi so that he sees those for him. This is in 2 Kings 6:17-20 This shows we need to pray to God before we open our mouth to teach or talk to others. We need to see the other world before we speak into this world
2. Experimentation
We need to step out and test if it is God. Peter was to be killed the next day but he was sleeping as a baby in Acts 12. This is because he was promised by Jesus that he be old and people will lead him where he will not like to go. in John 21:18-19 18Very truly I tell you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.” 19Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him, “Follow me!” This is the confidence we have in our salvation
3. Expectations
In this journey, we need to expect the reality. When Peter is released miraculously from Prison, he goes to John Mark’s house and knocks, Rodah cones to open the door and she realizes that it is Peter when she tells the congestion, they said that it was his angels. This is in Acts 12 There is unseen world that is more real than the physical world. This led Peter saying that Angels are learning about God’s grace through us

4. Communion
The Disciples going yo Emmaus in Luke 24:13-35 knew that it is the Lord Jesus Christ when they broke the Bread. Mahanaim involves Communion. Their eyes were opened after communion in vs 30-32 30 When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. 32 They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” When we commune with God, our inner eyes get opened
5. Meditation
We should meditate on the word of God daily.
- John in the island of Patmos was meditating on the word of the Lord. This led him to see great things from the Lord.
- Jacob was Disconnected from the world when he saw the Mahanaim
- Moses also refused to be Pharaoh’s son because he saw the invisible works of the Lord
