Manna is Described in Exodus 16:31 as a fine, flake-like thing, white like coriander seed, and tasting like wafers made with honey. God provided Manna every morning, but it would rot if kept overnight — except before the Sabbath, when it lasted two days (Exodus 16:23-24).
Significance of Manna
- From exodus 16:23-24: we are supposed to do our daily devotion every morning before the sun comes up. This is before the issues of lives starts disturbing us during the day.
- When issues of life, like the sun starts coming up, it melts away the manna. meaning the manna will not be as sweet during the day time as in the morning 21 Each morning everyone gathered as much as they needed, and when the sun grew hot, it melted away Exodus 16:21
- When going to through issues in life we may not be able to study the word of God, This is when The yesterday’s word may take you through the next day. When the Israelite were told to not collect Manna the day before sabbath God knew that the manna they collected previously will carry them through. and it did not stink or get maggots in it. – Exodus 16:24 We are human and sometimes we are unable to do devotion daily, Remember what you got yesterday will take you through and it will not get maggot
-  We are told in Exodus 16:18 that 18 And when they measured it by the omer, the one who gathered much did not have too much, and the one who gathered little did not have too little. Everyone had gathered just as much as they needed. Meaning that some of us may have grace to pray and do devotion for many hours but others few minutes. But depending on your time, whatever you get daily will be enough for you. We should not feel bad when we do devotion for a short time while others are going for hours. The bible says that God’s grace is sufficient.
